In these lessons I took Phoebe step by step through the techniques in painting a Modigliani style oil painting. First we worked on the background, slowly working through different tones and textures using a one inch brush, a palette knife and a fan brush. The we blocked in the skin tones and dress and hat.
After Letting it dry for a week, we then built up different coloured tonal texture over the background and added basic shading to the skin and dress. We also worked in some basic line work to the facial structure.
After letting it sit for another final week, we added hard lines and deeper colour to the eyes and lips and reworked the shading for a final time. Very proud of Phoebes result!
